On the eve of commemorating the 50th anniversary of La Rondalla Azul, its emblematic history is present for five decades of representing Southern California music beyond our borders and having positioned itself dearly in the taste of the demanding society of Baja California.

This group performed for the first time in public on March 21, 1969 at the "Constitución" theater in La Paz, BCS, in the II Concurso de la Song Sudcaliforniana, where he sang "La otra orilla de Humberto Cesar García, which was one of the winning songs, same that recorded in an LP disc along with "Paceñita" of Francisco Arámburo Salas.

It was named "Rondalla Azul" by Prof. Román Pozo Méndez, radio chronicler of the contest, due to the blue color of the uniform that the ensemble wore.
