------------

For more than 60 million years the whale shark   He has crossed the oceans to be crowned as the largest fish on planet Earth and stand out as the only member of his family.

Rhincodon typus is the scientific name of this shark that, in addition to being the only example of its kind, is cataloged, according to its conservation, as vulnerable.

The common denomination of this fish is determined by its appearance similar to that of the whale. As it is known the first individual of this species was reported in 1828, in South Africa. However, the event was only scientifically documented one year later and the first profound description would happen in 1849.
